The former lead singer of the Christian Band "Newsboys" will speak at a Community Thanksgiving Event on Sunday, November 22nd at 6 p.m. John James, former lead singer of "Newsboys" will speak at the service, which will be held at the Immanuel Baptist Church Ministry Center. The event will be sponsored by the churches of the Greater Princeton Ministerial Association (GPMA).

"A divided nation needs a unified voice declaring the saving power of Jesus," said Dr. Dan Jividen, GPMA president and pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church in Princeton. "We believe John James is a voice our community needs to hear, because he can speak powerfully about Jesus' power to save and restore, he continued.

James was the frontman and lead singer for the Christian Group, "Newspaper" when they were becoming internationally famous. His personal struggles led him to leave the gr4oupat the height of their popularity and reconnect with Jesus in a powerful way.

All are welcome to attend the event. A love offering will be received by the GPMA and distributed to the local community ministries. Ministries benefiting include, Tender Mercies Food Pantry, Bluefield Union Mission, Salvation Army, Amy's House of Hope, Heaven Sent Ministries, Planet Xtreme Teen Center and the local Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
